VIN: the Brunei Royal Family Jaguar XJR-15 chassis 046

HISTORY OF CHASSIS 046
Chassis 046 was one of two XJR-15 road cars supplied to the Brunei Royal Family. Total XJR-15 production was 53 units.
The Sultan (Hassanal Bolkiah) and his brother Prince Jefri, who was Brunei’s finance minister and chairman of the country’s investment agency, also purchased 20 XJ220s from Jaguar between 1992 and 1995. This figure included 18 standard production models, the 1993 Le Mans class winning XJ220-C and a unique Pininfarina-bodied XJ220 road car. Jaguar also took orders for at least 160 comparatively modest Saloons and Coupes from Brunei during the 1990s.

Unusually, chassis 046 was finished in yellow with black leather upholstery whereas every other XJR-15 road car left TWR painted XJR Blue with grey leather.
Upon arrival in Brunei chassis 046 was registered BN618. It has remained part of the Brunei Royal collection ever since.
